I am Qudus Adebowale Balogun, the Principal Consultant at Iwelabi Consulting – a group of accounting and finance professionals dedicated to providing Accounting, Tax, Advisory, Review and Assurance, Management Consulting, and other professional services to discerning clients across the globe.
In my role, I currently lead the firm’s overall Business and Financial Strategy, Business Development, Operational Efficiency, Client Management, and Risk Management, among other key areas. I am a multifaceted young professional and a lifelong learner with over 8 years of progressive experience, a strong record of accomplishments, and quality affiliations.
I am a Chartered Accountant at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), an Associate Member and Secretary to the Membership Committee of the Institute of Information Management (IIM) Africa, and an alumnus of one of the renowned Enterprise Development Centers in Nigeria, FATE Foundation.
I am also an active young leader with a certificate in Organizational Leadership from the prestigious Harvard Business School Online. In terms of leadership and volunteering, I currently serve as Co-Founder/Mentor at Mentorship Corner International—a community that focuses on empowering young accountants in their professional life, academics, finance, technology adaptation, soft skills acquisition, and personal development.
I am the Founder of Career Development with Iwelabi (CDwI), a Career and Human Capital Development virtual platform. Additionally, I serve as Treasurer for the Vibrant Girls Development Initiative (VGDI), a Girl Child empowerment registered NGO, and as Co-Admin for Accountants World, a virtual learning hub for professional accountants.
Professionally, I have served in various capacities at different organizations, working as an Audit Trainee, Junior Accountant, Internal Auditor, Operations/Financial Analyst, and Account Officer. Most recently, I progressed from Manager, Financial Planning and Reporting to Senior Finance Manager before assuming the role of Vice President of Finance & Admin at uLesson Education Limited. In an assessment report to me from EY United Kingdom (UK), I was described as a Self-Developer, Digital Architect, Virtual Collaborator, and an Adaptable Performer. Above all, I hold a strong belief that “regardless of past experience and achievements, the best in me is yet to be unleashed.”
During my leisure time, I enjoy taking classes, playing Scrabble, Tennis, and/or exercising with Karate Martial Art.
